The American Eagle Style’s Red Top Program has been teaching young adults how to recognize the qualities of a strong leader for more than 15 years. As a traditional school, the American Martial Arts Institute believes that martial artists have a responsibility to make a positive difference in their communities. Students accepted into the Red Top program learns about important leadership concepts such as goal-setting, clear expectations, time management, communication, motivation, accountability, delegation, prioritization, empathy, technical skills, collaboration, conformity, vision, and much more. Leadership Piece by Piece makes some of this program’s core concepts and methods available to those looking to develop their own leadership programs, for those American Eagle Style students interested in applying to the program, and to its participants. These ideas are not new. On the contrary, they are the “old ways” linked to traditions, many which are being forgotten or replaced in a rapidly changing world of technology.
